Flash Global Advisory:
Israel Security Situation
August 29, 2024
Flash Global Valued Customers,
The conflict between Israel and Gaza, along with heightened tensions involving Hezbollah in Lebanon, has escalated in recent days.
- Gaza and Southern Israel: Israeli forces continue airstrikes on Gaza in response to ongoing rocket attacks. Recently, missiles targeted areas like Sderot in southern Israel. In retaliation, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) launched strikes against several Hamas and Islamic Jihad positions in Gaza. This exchange has caused significant casualties on both sides, further complicating efforts to negotiate a ceasefire.
- Northern Israel and Lebanon: The situation on Israel’s northern border with Lebanon is also tense. Hezbollah has intensified its rocket attacks on Israeli military and civilian targets, leading to a robust Israeli response. The IDF recently struck multiple Hezbollah launch sites in Lebanon, aiming to pre-empt a major attack on central and northern Israel. This follows weeks of escalating skirmishes, with Hezbollah declaring its support for Gaza.
- Tel Aviv and Central Israel: Tel Aviv has also experienced attacks, including a recent terrorist ramming and stabbing incident. Israeli security forces remain on high alert, with the IDF’s leadership in Tel Aviv preparing for what they anticipate will be a particularly intense week
